What I’ve Found That Works For My Teething Baby.

Teething is a parents worst nightmare, there is really no other way to describe it and I am sure I’m not the only one who feels that way.

I got an early start to the teething game and it sure has been a long journey I feel like. Easton is one now and he started teething when he was 4 months old. That was bad enough but he always gets his teeth in twos which is defiantly double trouble!

How to tell your baby is teething? Oh trust me, you will know.

They are fussy which I know is like an everyday thing anyway but times their regular fussiness by 100.

They chew everything in sight, including biting on you. Just the other day my son bit my toe.

Their poor little gums get swollen and sometimes they even have a low grade fever.

The crankiness alone will tell you, you now have a teething baby on your hands but those are some other things to look for as well.

**Disclaimer: I am no doctor, these are just what I have noticed In my baby and what has helped us during the teething stage so far.**

I am in no means an expert on teething, but I have found some items that really helped my son. You can give tylenol obviously if nothing else is working and you can tell they are in a lot of pain but I try to use natural remedies before resorting to pain medication.

Reliving Teething Pain

My son loves his banana! We can’t leave the house without it, by far his favorite thing to chew on but he even likes it when he’s not teething.
The nuby 3 step teething is also great. My son especially loves the top teether for when his top teeth come in.
Teething wafers work so well for not only teething but they also keep them occupied and keep their minds off the pain.

Other Remedies I have Used

A cold wash cloth for my son to suck and chew on really helps, I will also rub his gums gently with it as well.

I will feed him a cold bottle. The sucking sensation really helps and so does the coldness.

Also frozen fruit popsicles as well. They are yummy but also feel good on his gums.

Teething is tough, it makes you want to cry right along with your little one and you might just have your occasional glass of wine at night, a little more frequently.

But it doesn’t last forever and your cranky little babes just need some extra loving when they have a new tooth popping through.

We have to take the good with the bad during this parenting journey.

I hope some of these options has helped you out, and please if you have anymore great remedies make sure you leave them down in the comments.

Teething is for sure a difficult time in parenting and the poor baby! But these are some great ideas for relief! The baby banana is a new one. I wonder if it has a banana flavor too!

I’m not sure, I don’t think so but that would be cool because he loves bananas! Thank you for reading 😊

I had a good little chuckle over the thought of your son biting your toe haha! But I suppose as a baby, you look for anything you can grab to gnaw on for the time being. I remember my sister using cold washcloths with her sons when they were that young. It’s been so long since I’ve been around babies that I wouldn’t even know the “norm” for teething. So this was a fun read!

Hi Amanda. Some great suggestions there for coping with teething. A cold washcloth and a glass of wine sounds like a good combination – although I’m guessing the adult should have the wine!

Frozen popsicles are wonderful for helping through teething, but I love the handy little toys you share that also make the process easier.
The upside is definitely that teething ends before you know it and cranky little babes go back to being babes. 🙂

Yes it does! Definitely only a few days of crankiness and then it’s back to normal! Thank you Jaya 🙂

All of the infants at the childcare center that I work at use teething rings when they are going through teething and they seem to be very helpful. I think I saw one of them using the banana toothbrush before too. Great recommendations! Thank you so much for sharing!

I’ve worked with babies for many years and lord these items are life saviors! They would not have been able to tolerate me playing with them for more than 3 seconds if they didn’t all have something to chew on (that wasn’t my shirt LOL)

Ouu I didn’t know about those teething wafers! I’ll get those next time. Thanks for the tip. So far we survived the first two front bottom teeth coming out. I think the two front upper teeth would be next. And yes, teething baby makes mothering doubly hard.

Yes the top two should be next! It’s so hard. My son is getting his top two moellers right now and it’s been a miserable couple of days!☹️

Oh no I heard those are the most painful ones!! 😣 I remember my nephew lost appetite during that time. Hopefully it’ll be over soon for you and your son.

Yes!! He definitely isn’t eating as much yesterday and this morning and waking up a couple times a month. Hoping it’s better in the next couple days!
